Shorewood Parents:
Well it was a grand homecoming week culminating in a loud and fun Pep Rally. We didn't win the game but it was great to see such spirit and community happening at Shorewood. The dance, from the teenage reports, went well and a fun time was had by those who attended.
We now enter into the final week or so of the first quarter. For you freshmen parents Shorewood uses four grading quarters and two semesters. The first quarter is usually just a check on how the ol' grades are doing. I wouldn't worry too much if the grades are not what you might be accustomed to. Please keep in mind that the first year of high school is a big transition for your teen. If you do have concerns please feel free to contact your student's teachers (with first consulting your student)for further input.
If your student is considering a four year college or university please remember to have them take the SAT and or the ACT during the next few months. Schedules are available at Shorewood.
Lastly, thanks to all of you who came out to all the football home games. The season so far has had its ups and downs but the return to good solid football continues. Until next time.

Don't Forget
If you are so inclined please do come to the PEP rally this Friday beginning a little after 12:00pm. Bring ear plugs it gets pretty loud. Also come on out for the Homecoming game against Mount Lake Terrace. The game begins at 7:00pm. Lastly, the big home coming dance is Saturday night beginning around 8 pm. This typically is the one formal affair in which all grades may attend. If your student hasn't made a reservation for dinner yet. Try Scott's or Anthony's on the waterfront in Edmonds. Both are good spots pre or post dance.
The rest of this week is filled with good ol' fashioned Timfoolery. The power puff dogdeball game is coming up as well as the volleyball game. It's all fun, so if your feeling kinda blue head on up to Shorewood over the next couple of nights for a good laugh.
Until next time.

Home Coming Is Upon Us
Greetings Shorewoodians:
I hope your student is engaged and feeling confident now that we are well underway in the school year. If you have any questions please do ask me or give the school a call, we are here to help. Now on to the fun stuff.
Its Homecoming. This year Shorewood will take on Mount Lake Terrace so put your blue and green on and come on out. Also there are lots of fun things happening during the school week. There are dress up days all week with Monday being my favorite, pajama day. It's the one day a year I can roll out of bed and not worry about changing into my work clothes. There is a volleyball game and a powerpuff dodge ball game. The usual power puff football game was discontinued due to a few to many injuries. Besides the Friday night game if you really want to see the spirit that is around Shorewood come to the Homecoming assembly. It is loud, filled with skits, spirit and class rivalry. You are more than welcome to attend.
That's it for now. Stay tuned.
Up next. Tim's wild trip to get his mail.
